First week of travelling: Kuala Lumpur

Since our time in Dubai wasn’t that great we were not worried about our arrival in KL. Everything better than what we saw of Dubai. The flight from Dubai to KL was nice. We had never seen an airplane of that size.. And we liked it because it was really comfortable and modern!

At the KL airport it was hard to get some money because the ATM’s were not giving anything at all..

In the end we exchanged some euro’s at a money exchange office and took the KLIA-train (35 RM/8,50 EUR for one ticket) to KL sentral. At an information point we asked for a map of KL (for free). From there we searched for the Reggae Guest House that we found on the Agoda app. It was located near China town.

How to get to KL Sentral from Kuala Lumpur International Airport:

* You can take the KLIA-train for RM 35 / 8,50 EUR p.p. to KL Sentral (Around 30 minutes)
* There are buses that leave frequently to KL Sentral for RM 8 / 1,95 EUR p.p. We didn’t know about the buses so we can’t really tell you where they leave. But just ask an employee.

How to get to China Town, Kuala Lumpur:

Take the train/metro (it’s named train or metro according to the different signs, we got confused too) from KL Sentral to Masjid Jamek or Pasar Seni. We went to Masjid Jamek but Pasar Seni is slightly closer to China Town.
It will cost you about RM 2 / 0,95 EUR p.p. So It’s super cheap!

Reggae Guesthouse 1

Reggae Guesthouse 1 is located a few meters from China Town and next to Backpacker’s Inn. It has a nice bar and club/cafΓ© downstairs. We could get a room for RM 80 / 19,52 EUR for 2 persons. These rooms have 2 separate beds, a TV, airconditioning and a fan.

The dorms and RM 60 – rooms were full.
We had dinner in China Town – ‘on the street’ – for RM 18 / 4,39 EUR: 2 full plates and a 1 Liter bottle of water. Cheap and good food.

Since we we’re really tired of the last days, we quickly roamed through China Town, made our plans for the next day and we went to sleep.
